Pinot Meunier
Bande Apart Adelaide Hills Pinot Meunier 2021
This Pinot Meunier from Bande Apart was made from fruit grown in the Peacock Road Vineyard in Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills.
The fruit was hand-picked and chilled overnight, before being destemmed (not crushed) into a stainless steel fermenter, retaining whole berries. The wine underwent wild fermentation before being pressed into old French oak for 8 months. It was then racked off solids and bottled without fining or filtration.
Defined Alpine strawberry and fresh raspberry domainate the palate along with sweet charred earth and a graphite-like minerality. Plenty of spice and white pepper to complement the classic Meunier wildness. Moreish and open on the palate with a line of vibrant acidity.
Only 3 barrels produced.
