Dodgy Bros Juxtaposed Single Vineyard Shiraz 2020
From the Wait family Vineyard in Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale. This wine comes from the ‘Sandy Corner Block’, planted in 1966. It neighbours the old Grenache block found in our Old Vine Grenache (planted 1943). This year they felt that this wine was so unique in its expression of Shiraz that it deserved to be bottled as a stand alone wine, as a homage to the vineyard. It was matured for 18 months in old French oak barriques and hogsheads, and it was not fined or filtered. This wine will reward those with patience as it will develop gracefully over the next decade, but is also approachable in its youth with bright, fresh fruit flavours.
1300 bottles produced.
Label Artist: SARAH MCCLOSKEY is a Western Australian visual artist & illustrator now based in Sydney. Splitting her practice between producing intricate illustrations for exhibition and large-scale public murals, she aims to connect with her audience through portraiture and other familiar subjects. Her main focus in recent years has been on creating whimsical and engaging portraits of women, often interspersed with botanical motifs or layered and arranged in such a way as to blur the line between real and imagined. Murals have played an increasingly large role in Sarah’s practice over the past few years, having been commissioned to paint walls extensively across WA and Australia. Bringing her work into the public sphere in this manner allows for a new kind of engagement and this is something that she continues to celebrate and explore. Sarah has exhibited widely in exhibitions across Australia and overseas and is now working on a solo exhibition to be held in Sydney in the near future. Instagram: @sarsar
