Frederick Stevenson Sangiovese 2021
Since taking this Adelaide Hills vineyard on in 2017, Steve has been taken by its ability to provide very elegant, cool climate fruit expression from the nose and into the mouth, but carry present and tight Sangiovese tannin and spice to make it a compelling drink.
A mild and dry ripening season lead to a long period of flavour and tannin development. Dark cherries, plums and raspberries on the nose, with background forest floor, gamey notes. Slightly lighter palate feel due to the cooler ripening season. Cherries, spiced plums, dried rose petals, balsamic strawberries and drying tannin with a nice easy out to fresh acid and slight tea and tobacco notes.
