Head Red Montepulciano 2020
The latest addition to the ‘HEAD RED’ range is a Montepulciano. No other emerging variety in the Barossa has shown as much promise as Montepulciano. Alex made his first ‘Monte’ in 2013 and hasn't looked back since. It has been a wonderful romance and has given him an opportunity to make light to middle weight wines in a warmer climate. He feels Monte is somewhere between Pinot Noir and Grenache in style.
It was not hard for Alex to produce this wonderfully aromatic, pure, refreshing wine with moderate extract and moderate alcohol...the perfect ‘bistro-wine’. Some wholebunch retention during ferment and aged in large neutral French barrels for a year. Bottled unfined under Stelvin capsule.
