Izway Harold Shiraz 2020
An impressive Northern Eden Valley Shiraz that is ripe & punchy.
From the undulating hills of the Northern Eden Valley this single-hectare Shiraz vineyard is the second release from “Harold’s” new home in the sub region of Moculta. Like an old fisherman that can’t let go of a past favourite watering hole, we’ve been comfortable setting up the deck chairs at this new site just upstream from the original vineyard.
Appearance is dense black with purple hue, almost completely opaque. Vibrant and fresh aromatics of dark chocolate, violet, lavender and cassis. Bold, brave and generous, lively and fresh, the palate is primarily forward without being heavy, a hallmark of the Northern Eden Valley.
Low acidity and soft tannin lead to a wine that is drinking well now, but there will be some benefit in cellaring for 5 to 10 years.
