A fragrant nose of Nashi pear and spice leads to a richly structured palate of delicious orchard fruit, cinnamon and nutmeg with fine acidity and elegant length.
Fruit is from three elevated sites in the Adelaide Hills - our own Woodside vineyard, as well as Charleston and Lenswood - perfect for the slow ripening of Pinot Gris.
The 2022 season started cooler during flowering. Crop levels were below average, enhancing flavour and intensity. A slightly later start to vintage 2022, with warm days and cool nights during February and March resulting in quality fruit.
Hand picked and whole bunch pressed into stainless steel and 2-3 year old French oak barriques. 20% barrel fermented. The barrel component was lees stirred and underwent partial malolactic fermentation
