Shiraz
Paracombe Somerville Shiraz 2013
Prestige Shiraz dedicated to James ‘Jas’ Somerville an early Paracombe pioneer and the first to plant vines in the district in 1903. The Drogemuller’s transplanted these historic vines to the family vineyard and are now the custodians of these centurion old vines.
Deep sumptuous purple red colour. Decadent aromas of mulberry, cherry, rich coffee and dark chocolate.
The palate delivers strong depth of fruit intensity and tantalizing white pepper spice and layered flavours tapering into a fine, satisfying finish.
An impeccably balanced wine of great style and complexity to accompany cheeses or rich, flavoursome dishes or chocolate berry inspired desserts.
What the reviewers are saying
Deepish red colour, purple tints. Fresh ‘crushed leaf’ and dried herb aromas, bouquet garni herbs, some floral notes. Lively acidity. Intense, rich and lively in the mouth, with power and drive and length. An impressive palate. Long-term aging. Huon Hooke
