Patritti April Red Grenache Palomino 2021
The main objective of this wine was to capture the true essence of vintage and place it in a bottle, so timing was everything. The handpicked Grenache was crushed over the intact whole bunches of Palomino on the 2nd of March. The wine was pressed after six days of open fermentation, when the desired tannin balance was achieved. Once the wine had finished fermentation it was prepared for bottling on the 28th of April 2021 with no oak handling or maturation.
Beautiful bright garnet, ruby colour glows in the glass. The nose is lively like a berry compote. Raspberry, cherry, blueberry with rhubarb. It’s not all fruits though, spices, mint, cinnamon and cloves bring complexity and a more serious aromatic element. The palate is light, fruity and delicious with good structure and tight balance. In the mouth, flavours are lime, raspberry and boiled lollies, its juicy but has a savoury spice.
