Terre à Terre Summertown Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018
“Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir from the hand of Xavier Bizot. It’s of an exquisite perfume, firmer and fuller Pinot from a warmer year, representing as sour cherry and plum, with a trickle of spice bolstering the wine.
It feels fuller, creamy in the way it evolves across the palate. Flavoursome and fulsome, whilst somewhat riper it’s certainly good to go now, but has the wherewithal to develop further.” 93+

This is the third Pinot Noir made by Terre à Terre from the Summertown Vineyard. Pinot Noir is a fastidious variety to grow, requiring lots of care during ripening to make sure the crop levels are kept low, adapting bunch exposure to the season by well timed shoot thinning, and picking at exactly the right level of ripeness. The 2018 growing season was perfect for the Pinot Noir. We are very pleased of the resulting wine, which is a step ahead of the 2017 with some good fruit characters and perfect ripeness. The wine will need time in bottle to deliver its full potential.
