Our Casa Vino Barossa Valley Grenache 2022 is produced by one of our favourite producers. Crafted from a thoughtful blend of three distinct vineyards, the oldest, a venerable 130-year-old site nestled in Ebenezer, imparts a sense of history to this wine. The heart of this composition comes from a 50-year-old Marananga vineyard, delivering depth and maturity, while a young and vibrant certified organic, biodynamic vineyard in Greenock contributes a touch of youthful exuberance.

Throughout the winemaking journey, each vineyard's unique character was safeguarded, with the final harmonious symphony being orchestrated just before bottling. The use of wild yeast to ferment each parcel of destemmed fruit in open fermenters adds an element of intrigue to its creation. Aged in a judicious combination of barrel sizes including Barrique (225L), Hogshead (300L), and Puncheon (500L), the wine has acquired a nuanced complexity.

The fruit takes center stage, both on the nose and the palate, making its presence known with subtlety and finesse. The gentle embrace of supple tannins, a gift from the fruit itself, finds kinship with the grace of old, neutral oak. This Grenache, of medium weight, offers a versatile drinking experience. During the sunlit days of summer, a slight chill in the fridge enhances its refreshment, while in the cooler months, serving it at room temperature unveils its full spectrum of flavors. With its intriguing blend and artful craftsmanship, this wine promises a journey through the Barossa's terroir and history in every sip.
