The 2023 Cactus Canyon Grenache is a bright, juicy wine with excellent acidity and fresh flavors. The grapes are harvested at a moderate Baume to accentuate the aromatic intensity of Grenache and explore the floral and spice characteristics of the variety.

The wine undergoes fermentation in an open fermenter with a gentle extraction over ten days. It is then pressed into a selection of 3-4 year old French hogsheads to complete malolactic fermentation and undergo a further six months of maturation before bottling.

As a relatively young wine, the Cactus Canyon Grenache boasts plenty of juicy red fruits alongside fine tannins that contribute to its length and complexity. The nose presents classic aromas of lavender, pomegranate, white pepper, and fragrant black tea. With a harmonious balance of fruit and spice, the palate offers fantastic mid-palate volume for a lighter-bodied wine and is filled with flavors of raspberry, spiced cherries, and wild thyme. Notably, this Grenache maintains structure and minerality, with a very fine ripple of tannin providing length and a pleasantly salivating quality.
