Grenache is certainly enjoying its moment in the spotlight after being utilised almost entirely as a blending variety for many years. These days there is genuine interest and moreover, reverence, for McLaren Vale Grenache.

At Samuel’s Gorge, they have always known this grape can hold its own. They have produced Grenache as a single variety since their inception in 2003, making this their 20th vintage; ever-retaining its crown as the crowd favourite.

The 2022 release displays varietal musk and field strawberry over a core of boysenberry with the “pop” of goji berry. It is opulent, yet medium-bodied and ethereal, held tightly through its structural composition of firm, dusty tannins and zingy acidity.

Finishing fresh on the palate, this wine will pair wonderfully with a meal eaten alfresco. It is a versatile wine that goes well with just about anything, so enjoy it with good company and warm summer evenings.
