For nine years, Chaffey Bros has embarked on a quest to craft the quintessential Barossa GSM, and in 2022, they believe they've achieved perfection. This vintage exudes generosity, juiciness, balance, and refinement, making it a versatile wine suitable for any occasion and deserving of a fresh, bold presentation.

The heart of their Barossa GSM lies in the Old Vine Grenache, celebrated for its elegance. Syrah and Mourvèdre, with their distinctive characteristics, contribute depth and structure, enriching this harmonious blend. After nine months of elevage in seasoned French oak hogsheads ranging from three to eight years old, the wine showcases a palate brimming with deep-fruited flavors of dark cherry, strawberry, and mineral notes reminiscent of graphite and ferrous elements. A supple, fine-grain tannin imparts a savory touch, while gentle acidity provides a seamless flow, guiding the brooding and delectable fruit to a lingering finish.

GSM, affectionately termed the "Barossa Hug," invites enjoyment alongside your favorite spaghetti bolognese recipe, chargrilled or barbecued meats, or as a companion to elevate roasted vegetables to new culinary heights.

Inspired by history, the wine pays homage to the legendary 1811 battle at Barrosa Ridge, where Spain and France clashed. La Résistance! embodies the spirit of defending traditional French varieties in the Barossa, pitting gnarled old vine Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre against the encroaching foreign invaders.

Crafted by winemakers Daniel Chaffey Hartwig, Huon Fechner, and Theo Engela, this blend features Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre varieties united in a triumphant expression of Barossa terroir.
