Welcome back to our hypnotizing wonder, Voodoo Child Chardonnay. It's been a while between drinks for this witchy woman - the 2024 Voodoo Child Chardonnay makes a long awaited return to the Claymore playlist.

Our ancient Chardy vine at Watervale got slammed by a black frost in October of 2023, we have been fortunate to turn to grower friends for this small batch 2024 Chardonnay. Using their gnarly Chardy fruit we have crafted a generous, full flavoured Chardonnay awash with peach, dew-melon and subtle French oak spice. Partial malo-lactic adds texture and a morish softness in the mouth, this is wine for food. Think good old roast chook, butter slathered under the skin, stuffed with apricots, walnuts and herbs.

COLOUR Pale Gold

BOUQUET Inviting aromatics of bright, fresh stone fruits and melon leading on the interest. Very subtle, spiced oak with the merest hint of minerality.

PALATE All that blush stone fruit is lifted by a bright natural acid profile which is appealing in the mouth, and complemented by lifted, ripe honey dew melon which lingers on the palate. This prettiness and delicacy is underpinned by lovely light textural elements, contributing structure to make this wine a great food match. Gentle French oak handling shines through light spicy and toasty notes, and for the first time you see delightful layering of yeasty lees and a subtle creaminess, attributed to a partial malo funking this baby right up.
