Style:
A delicate floral nose with hints of nectarine leads to a textured palate of spiced honey, wild herbs and grapefruit notes.

Vineyard:
Single vineyard estate grown at our Mount Torrens vineyard (475m) in the Adelaide Hills.
Sandy loam soils with shotgun ironstone and quartz over a red clay subsoil, north-east facing. The first plantings of Roussanne in the Adelaide Hills.

Vintage:
Outstanding quality from a perfect growing season. Slightly warmer than average, with no heat spikes, the very dry and sunny months of February and March delivered beautifu
lly balanced fruit with enhanced flavour and intensity.

Winemaking:
Destemmed and gently pressed. Stainless ferment until approx. 3.0 Baume and transferred to seasoned French oak barriques. The wine completed ferment in oak,  resting on full yeast and wine lees. The barrels were stirred, ensuring the lees were suspended in the wine, encouraging richness and lovely yeasty complexity. Constant lees contact also protects the wine throughout maturation, allowing this process to be extended.
