Montepulciano was first planted at Coriole in 2001. The variety is cherished for its rich intensity and the delightful array of savory characters that balance the dark cherry fruit. Known for its late ripening, Montepulciano is often the last variety harvested. The fruit used in this wine comes from both the Coriole and Willunga vineyards. At Coriole, the vines are grown on terra rossa, which imparts a more structural element to the wine, while fruit from Willunga contributes richer flavor and generosity.
