The Bowyer Ridge vineyard, planted to Chardonnay in 2003, is located just outside of Lobethal in Kenton Valley at an elevation of 490 meters. The soil consists of red loam with mica schist and ironstone. The vineyard features two blocks planted with Bernard clones 76 and 96. This cool-climate site preserves acidity and balance, resulting in an elegant yet powerful wine. It is regarded as one of the finest vineyards for Chardonnay in the Adelaide Hills.

The winemaking process aims to reflect the vineyard’s unique attributes and the specific vintage conditions. The fruit is handpicked early in the morning and whole-bunch pressed while still cold. Fermentation occurs with wild yeast in a combination of old and new French barriques (50% new). The wine is matured for 15 months before bottling.
