To have the wines of a "Young gun" on our shelves is always something special. and Charlotte Hardy is certainly that.
Charlotte didn't plan on getting into wine, rather starting out as a vet nurse and helping a friend in their vineyard on the weekends, doing pruning and general labour. And that's when she got the bug.
Charlotte says she not only loves wine, but after making wine all over the world for the past two decade, says she loves how she feels when she walks through vineyards. She loves the journey of turning grapes into wine. And she loves to watch the personalities develop in every single barrel and to observe the effect of the years passing on bottles of wine.
This too cool for school winemaker says that she doesn't make any stylistic choices for the wine, rather the grapes do and sets out to let the fruit express variety, vintage and terrior.
Drop in to the cellar door she shares with her wine maker husband Ben who has Cooke Brothers Wines (yes we stock them at Regions too) down at Pt. Elliot. Great wines and a great vibe!
