The story of Mollydooker begins with Sarah and Sparky Marquis, who, after marrying in 1991 and starting with little more than dreams and $1,000, set out to create their own winemaking business. They initially worked for Sarah's parents at Fox Creek, developing a successful vineyard watering system. Over time, their winemaking skills earned them multiple awards, including Australian Winemakers of the Year in 1999. However, their foray into the bulk wine market in the late '90s led to financial losses, and they returned to producing premium wines with partners.

In 2006, they launched Mollydooker, a brand focused on high-quality wines and distinctive labels. Their first vintage was an instant success, gaining rave reviews from Robert Parker and selling out quickly. They continued to grow, purchasing their own winery in McLaren Vale in 2007 and focusing on quality through detailed vineyard practices.

Mollydooker is known for its commitment to excellence, using the Marquis Fruit Weight™ to ensure the quality of its wines. They also embrace social responsibility through the "Sip it Forward" initiative, donating a portion of proceeds to charity.
By 2017, Sarah took over as sole owner and chief winemaker, continuing the legacy with the support of a talented team.
