Gris VS Grigio Pack
In South Australia, both Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio come from the same grape variety, but they are made in different styles that reflect either French or Italian winemaking traditions. Pinot Grigio is usually crafted in the Italian style—light-bodied, crisp, dry, and refreshing with bright acidity and flavours like green apple and citrus. It's made to be clean and easy-drinking, often fermented at cool temperatures and bottled young.
In contrast, Pinot Gris follows the French (Alsatian) style, offering a richer, fuller-bodied wine with a rounder texture. These wines may display flavours of ripe pear, spice, and honey, sometimes with a touch of sweetness or oak influence.
In South Australia, winemakers label the wine according to the style they’ve chosen, so even though the grape is the same, "Gris" and "Grigio" signal different taste experiences!
