Il Cativo is a legend. A lovable one that doesn't take life too seriously and whose mantra is to live life with a cheeky grin. And this comes with wine making also - a playful expression is not only encouraged, it's expected. 

But don't think that means they aren't passionate about wine. Il Cativo loves to please and this means producing wines that are expressive of their variety and have lots of character. This includes a method of winemaking that relies on minimal filtering and short maceration times for reds - making them fun and bright.

Picturesque Port Elliot is an hour South of Adelaide and is the birthplace of Il Cativo. There, you will find his psudo Italian roots amongst a small vineyard that specialises in Fiano and Montepulciano. These wines are fun and exciting and they never last long on the Regions shelves.
