Mosquito Hill Wines is a small, artisanal winery located in the picturesque Mt Jagged region of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
A surgeon by profession, founder and chief winemaker Glyn Jamieson cemented his love for the French styles of winemaking in the early 1990s, when he took study leave in France with his late wife, Elizabeth.
After returning to Australia in 1994, the couple purchased a 200-acre property and Mosquito Hill Wines was born.
Two vineyards were established in 1996 and 1998 then in 2004 the property’s first batch of wine was produced by highly regarded winemaker, Peter Leske.
Seven years later, a winery was built on site and since then Glyn, who also has a winemaking degree, has undertaken the wine making, always aiming for the style of Champagne and Burgundy, without down playing the flavours of the wines site of origin.
Crafted with premium fruit, expertise and a barrel load of passion, Mosquito Hill Wines aims to make powerfully flavoured wines without undue weight in the mouth.
