This release marks the second vintage of old-vine Grenache from a beautiful block known as The Springs, named for its location in the renowned subregion of Blewitt Springs in McLaren Vale. The vineyard spans 2 hectares at an elevation of 136 metres and is home to 75-year-old bush vine Grenache deeply rooted in the sandy soils typical of this esteemed area. Sustainably certified and meticulously hand-tended throughout the season, the site yields fruit of exceptional quality.

The fruit was hand-picked on March 18th and open-fermented with 25% whole bunches. After spending 10 days on skins to achieve an optimal balance of flavour and tannin extraction, the wine was matured on lees in seasoned French puncheons for 7 months. Bottling took place in November 2024.

The wine is bright and lifted, offering floral aromatics alongside redcurrants, strawberries, crushed raspberries, and subtle notes of red licorice and white pepper. Reflecting its old-vine origins and sandy soils, it displays vibrancy and purity with refined texture and minerality. Fine, silky tannins and impressive fruit length deliver excellent tension and balance.
