S.C. Pannell’s 2023 Protero Nebbiolo was harvested at the end of May, making it the latest-picked Protero Nebbiolo in the winery’s 20-year history.

Nebbiolo is naturally a long-season variety, budding early in spring but often among the last grapes to be harvested. That extended time on the vine allows greater flavour development while giving the tannins more time to ripen and soften.

The unusually long 2023 growing season produced a cooler, finer expression of Nebbiolo, with added delicacy, detail and complexity.
