This wine brings together Pinot Noir from the Turnbull family vineyard in Charleston, Syrah from the Downer family’s Erinka vineyard, and early-picked Gamay for freshness and lift. Fruit was hand harvested over three weeks in April and wild fermented in small open vessels, with 36% whole bunch retained across five ferments. Gentle extraction and six months’ maturation on gross lees in old French oak puncheons built texture while preserving vibrancy.
Silky and aromatic, the wine shows raspberry leaf and strawberry from Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir, layered with violet, cardamom, and white pepper from cool-climate Syrah. The palate is bright and supple, offering red plum, pomegranate, flint, and mineral notes, underpinned by juicy, fine-grained tannins and lively acidity.
