In the Pirate Life Limeburners Whisky Barrel Aged Stout 2022 Release, these two tales weave themselves back together.

Poured with relish, it greets the drinker with the sublime, silky oak barrel scent of fine malt whisky, vanilla, peat smoke, pine needles and chocolate-coated honeycomb. On the palate, it reveals the rich, decadent stout expected of the style, lifted by a surprising umami quality, sweet spice and gentle acidity. Like a great whisky, this beer transforms as it slowly warms in the glass. Those with patience will discover that, much like whisky ageing in barrel, when kept in a cool, dark place this stout will continue to evolve and surprise.

Brewed with Pale, Maris Otter, Munich I, Carahell, Golden Naked Oats, Cararoma, Carafa III, Chocolate Malt and Caramel Steam Malt, with Simcoe, Fuggles and East Kent Golding hops, this rare single-batch release forms part of The Hindmarsh Collection. The collection pays homage to the innovative, experimental spirit of Pirate Life’s original home at 89 South Road, Hindmarsh.
