The 2025 Purple Hands Grenache is drawn from a trio of distinctive Barossa Valley sites—Zerk, Caiazza, and Keady—each contributing nuance shaped by elevation, aspect, and soil. Old, own-rooted vines from Lyndoch and Moppa, some dating back to 1890, provide depth and character, while thoughtful vineyard management and minimal irrigation preserve site expression.

In the winery, a considered approach of 25% whole bunch fermentation, indigenous and cultured yeasts, and gentle extraction through open fermenters and header boards builds aromatic complexity and structure. Maturation in seasoned French oak puncheons allows the fruit to remain the focal point, with careful lees work enhancing texture prior to blending and bottling.

In the glass, it shows a bright crimson hue. Aromatically, it is vibrant and lifted, with cherry and earthy tones intertwined with rose petal, strawberry, and a subtle nettle edge from whole cluster inclusion. The palate is mid-weight, juicy, and finely textured, offering generous red berry fruit supported by fine fruit and stem tannins that bring balance and complexity. Approachable in its youth, it nonetheless has the structure to reward up to eight years of careful cellaring.
