Emmalene tells the story of two intertwined families from the Adelaide Hills: the Bartsch family, grape growers, and the Bulman family, winemakers. The name "Emmalene" holds significance for both families, symbolizing a peaceful home but often met with irony when they come together. Tim Bartsch (Bartschy) and Mark Bulman (Bulman) met in high school and, despite briefly parting ways at university, found success in their respective fields—Bartschy growing grapes and Bulman making wine. Both families are committed to creating wines that reflect the unique characteristics of their land, with sustainability at the heart of their practices.
Their vineyards, located in four key Adelaide Hills sites, are carbon neutral and farmed organically.
All Emmalene wines are naturally made and vegan-friendly, with minimal additions and filtration.
