Vinya Vella’s 2025 Old Vine Grenache comes from fewer than 3,000 bush vines rooted in deep fine sand, with each vine managed individually to preserve the vineyard’s distinctive character. The 2025 season brought frost, dry conditions and significant summer heat, but the old Grenache vines held their balance and ripened evenly by harvest.

Picked across two dates in March, the fruit was hand harvested and fermented using equal portions of destemmed whole berries, whole bunches and destemmed fruit, with wild fermentation and minimal handling. The wine then spent four months in old oak puncheons before finishing in stainless steel on lees.

The result is a medium-bodied Grenache with lifted red fruit and floral aromatics, layered with darker fruit and savoury spice. Fine, gentle tannins carry a long, precise finish, giving the wine both immediate appeal and the structure to evolve further with time.
