The 2023 Marco Polo Sangiovese is sourced from the Miracle Hill Vineyard in McLaren Flat, where cooler night air from the nearby Adelaide Hills and even vine balance help produce fruit with vibrant natural acidity. Originally grafted onto Shiraz in 2009, these mature vines now deliver exceptional consistency and flavour. The wine is open-fermented with indigenous yeasts, hand-plunged, and left on skins for 16 days before maturing for 12 months in seasoned French oak hogsheads and puncheons. No acid, enzymes, or tannins are added.

Cherry red in colour, the 2023 Marco Polo Sangiovese opens with aromas of Santa Rosa plums, cherries, and five spice. The palate is layered with red and black cherries, dried herbs, aniseed, and a touch of orange peel. Medium-bodied with bright acidity.
It pairs beautifully with lasagna or Tuscan bread soup and will cellar gracefully from 2025 to 2033.
