Ochota Barrels Where’s The Pope 2026 is a fuller, more generous take on Syrah this year, with plenty of flavour and weight while still keeping that trademark Ochota freshness.

Black olive tapenade, dark fruit and crushed autumn leaves lead the way, with a rounded, savoury palate that feels lush and supple without getting heavy. There’s lovely depth here, but it still finishes elegant, energetic and seriously drinkable.

The organically grown fruit comes from the Onkaparinga Hills in McLaren Vale, planted on schist and clay. Picked on 13 February, it spent 14 days on skins with 45% whole bunch before resting in five-year-old Chassin hogsheads.

Named after an old-school Adelaide hardcore punk band.
