Colour: Bright and deep with purple hues.

Aroma: A complex melody of bright red fruits and earthy spice leaps out of the glass - raspberry, cherry, plum, tobacco and dried herbs. 

Palate: Medium bodied wine with soft chalky tannins, upfront explosion of bright fruit which gently transitions to a lingering tobacco, cigar-box, anise finish.

14 day ferment on skins in open fermenters with gentle hand- plunging. Gently pressed to tank, settled and transferred to two - to three-year-old French oak, hogsheads and barriques, and matured there for 12 months.

"Pinotage is not something you see every day in Australia. This comes from nine-year-old vines and is made by young winemaker Jack Walker. It feels soft and lighter weight, pleasingly velvety in texture and imbued with red and black cherry, some faint fennel notes, a touch of truffle and dried herb. There's a sweetness on hand, but it feels tempered with the herbal elements and somewhat earthy savouriness going on. The finish lingers well, a little spicy, and tannins build gently to a finale of pucker and light grip. It's a delight all up."
