Rudderless Vineyard was founded by wine expert and publican Doug Govan, driven by his passion for fine wines and premium vineyards around the Victory Hotel (est. 1858), located in the southern Fleurieu overlooking the McLaren basin. All vines are grown on the five-acre estate surrounding the hotel, benefiting from a maritime climate. In partnership with renowned winemaker Pete Fraser (Yangarra Estate), Rudderless has gained international recognition since its first vintage, producing exceptional wines.

"Hand picked and mechanically sorted. A rich grenache, very different to the crunchy, more red-fruit expressions that mark the region. Kirsch, orange rind, clove, darker cherry and a herbal tingle of tannin directing fine length. The quality of the material is clear. Yet the bristle of barrique, not so much. This will be interesting to revisit in a few years"
