Cirillo Estate Single Vineyard Shiraz 2024
Sourced exclusively from the Cirillo family estate, this Shiraz reflects a restrained and elegant expression of Barossa terroir. Fermented with indigenous yeast in open fermenters, gently basket pressed, and matured primarily in stainless steel, with a portion aged for a few months in seasoned French oak, the wine is shaped to highlight purity of fruit and finesse over overt power.
In the glass, it shows a dark ruby-red hue. The nose is both inviting and layered, with aromas of blackcurrant, cocoa, and a hint of vanilla, subtly integrated from oak. There’s a quiet aromatic confidence, offering depth without overstatement.
The palate is soft, delicate, and finely textured, revealing notes of blackberry, subtle spice, and a touch of mint. It shows mid-palate weight and flow, balanced by an elegant structure and refined tannins. While unmistakably Barossa in varietal character, it speaks more of restraint than muscle—a prettier, more graceful interpretation of Shiraz.
The finish is long and persistent, carrying savoury fruit and fine detail. Drink now for its elegance and vibrancy, or cellar confidently over the next 10 to 20 years to reveal deeper layers.
