Pinot Noir
Guthrie 'Clones' Pinot Noir 2024
Grown on acidic sandy loam over red clay on the cool slopes of Mount Torrens, this Pinot Noir highlights the elegance of the Abel clone, delivering brightness, spice and subtle savoury depth in equal measure.
Picked at dawn to preserve freshness, the fruit underwent a gentle whole-berry wild ferment in small open-top fermenters. It was matured for 12 months in French oak hogsheads, 20% new, striking a balance between structure and purity of fruit.
A brooding and serious expression of Guthrie’s stalwart Pinot. Marasca cherry, baking spice and red plum jam lead, underpinned by a terracotta soil character. The palate is spicy and peppery, with slick yet present tannins that frame the fruit beautifully. Outstanding value Pinot Noir, as ever.
