The 2023 O’Leary Walker Clare Valley Shiraz is sourced from two premium sub-regions—Polish Hill River and Armagh—bringing together the finesse of cooler sites with the richness of warmer terroir.

In the glass, it presents a deep, vibrant purple hue, dense and intense. The bouquet is expressive, offering ripe raspberry, cherry, and plum layered with savoury nuances of black olive and cassis, alongside subtle cedar complexity from oak maturation.

The palate is concentrated and powerful, with a core of black and red fruits supported by well-integrated oak, lending toasty mocha undertones. Fine tannins and firm acidity provide structure, while a dense, chewy texture is lifted by notes of peppery anise spice. Crafted through small-batch open fermentation and extended time on skins, followed by 18 months in French oak, the wine shows both depth and refinement.

Approachable now with decanting, it has the structure and balance to reward extended cellaring for 20 years or more.
