Shiraz is one of the original varieties planted in Coonawarra, where it once outnumbered Cabernet. The region’s terra rossa soils paired with Shiraz remain an iconic yet understated strength. This wine comes from two highly regarded sites: Tim Kidman’s Block 5 old-vine vineyard and the McLeod “Rocky” Block. Both lie on classic terra rossa and benefit from the cooling influence of the Southern Ocean, allowing for long, even ripening and producing fruit with depth and elegance.

A refined and elegantly structured shiraz from this slightly cooler vintage in Coonawarra. The nose is a seductive mix of red fruits and darker plum with a slightly minty overlay. The medium-bodied palate knits together seamlessly with bright fruity characters supported with a mix of oaks, of which 40% was new. Has a juicy vibrancy y that is most appealing. Cellar, 10 years.
