Generous yet finely shaped, combining perfumed pepper spice with rich dark plum and blue-fruit flavours. Its palate is long and complex, finishing with fine tannins and subtle spicy oak.

The fruit is sourced from Carmine and Marina Pepicelli’s high-altitude vineyard near Lobethal, one of the Adelaide Hills’ highest Shiraz sites at 480 metres, set on a gentle north-facing slope for optimal sunlight exposure.

To build complexity, the 2022 wine was fermented in two separate batches: one comprising 50% whole bunches with the balance crushed, and the other containing 50% whole berries. These contrasting ferments produced one lifted and structured component and one richer, softer and more textural. Each batch matured individually in French oak barriques (35% new) before a rigorous barrel selection determined the final blend.
