Generous yet finely structured, with perfumed pepper spice layered over rich dark plum and blue-fruit characters. Its palate is long and complex, finishing with fine-grained tannins and subtle spicy oak.

The fruit comes from a single Woodside vineyard in the Adelaide Hills, where the relatively low elevation of 350 metres aided ripening and delivered generous flavour in the cool, late 2023 season.

For added complexity, the wine was fermented in two batches: one with 50% whole bunches and the remainder crushed, the other with 50% whole berries. These contrasting fermentations produced both a lifted, structured component and a richer, softer, more textural one. Each batch matured separately in French oak barriques (35% new) before a strict barrel selection determined the final blend, which was bottled in March 2023.
