The 2024 Koerner Adelaide Hills Sangiovese is made from 100% Sangiovese sourced from vines planted in 1996, 1998 and 2000, grown across clay and sandy loam soils over soft rock and deep clay.

The fruit was hand harvested and sorted in the vineyard on 13 March and 3 April 2024. It was fully destemmed, with some whole berries retained, before undergoing natural fermentation in open-top stainless-steel fermenters. The wine was hand-plunged and pumped over daily, spending two weeks on skins before the free-run juice and pressings were combined.

Following pressing, the wine was settled off gross lees for seven days, then matured for 15 months in 2,000-litre Slavonian oak foudre. It was subsequently transferred to stainless steel, where it rested on fine lees for a further six months.

The resulting wine is bright and savoury, with lifted red cherry and raspberry fruit supported by dried herbs, subtle spice and earthy undertones. Fine, structured tannins and fresh acidity give the palate energy and length, while the large-format oak contributes texture without dominating the fruit.

It was bottled unfined and unfiltered in November 2025.
