Fell McLaren Vale Montepulciano 2023
"From a site in Whites Valley; 15 months in neutral French. Montepulciano can be tricky. It can be a bruiser, and it can be overly herbal. This is neither. A little calibrated up from mid-weight, but not much, this is lively and not remotely confected, with red plum, sour cherry, tart blackberry and some hazelnut, warm brown and dark spices, orange peel – a little nod to chinotto and amaro, but lightly rendered. It has ready drinkability and food-apt tensioning. An excellent take on the grape."
93 Points - Marcus Ellis - Halliday Wine Companion
The bright red fruit jumps out of the glass, with sour cherry and plum at the forefront while
herbaceous notes and almond kernel round out the nose. mThis medium-bodied wine pairs perfectly with food - deep berry flavours on the palate sit in sync with gentle tannins and fresh acidity.
