The wine is anchored in the Turnbull Family vineyard, rooted in shallow sandy loam with schist, quartz, and ironstone, where meticulous vineyard work delivers intensity, even ripening, and freshness. A smaller contribution from a more delicate Woodside site brings lift and finesse. Fruit was hand-harvested and wild fermented in two batches with varying proportions of whole bunches, resulting in a final blend of 59% whole cluster. Gentle extraction and maturation in old French oak puncheons preserved fragrance while quietly building structure.

Initially tight, the wine opens with air to reveal ripe raspberry, gravel, pink peppercorn, cardamom, and mountain herbs. The palate is driven by a persistent acid line, with crunchy cranberry and raspberry fruit, subtle wood spice, autumnal notes, and a fine, sherbet-like tannin profile. Delicate, pure, and quietly succulent.
