The 2023 vintage shows great intensity, with opulent flavours of ginger and stone fruit. The palate is long and flavoursome, displaying remarkable depth and extract thanks to a long ripening season.

The third La Niña-influenced season in a row, 2023 was late, cool and wet, resulting in the latest vintage experienced by Shaw + Smith. The extended growing season delivered excellent acidity and attractive cool-season flavours.

The fruit was hand-picked and hand-sorted before being gently whole-bunch pressed and fermented in 500-litre puncheons, 30% of which were new. The wine completed full malolactic fermentation and was matured for 10 months in oak before resting in tank prior to bottling. It will reward careful cellaring for up to 15 years.
