Barossa Cabernet remains one of the region’s best-kept secrets—quietly powerful and deeply expressive. In 2022, Head Wines began working with a vineyard planted in 1950 on the white wind-blown sands of Ebenezer, a site with a rich history and immense potential. With careful attention and time, the goal is to craft something truly exceptional from this site.

The Cabernet is supported by small, hand-picked parcels of old vine Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, used thoughtfully for blending. Remarkably, in its very first vintage, the wine was named in the Halliday Top 100 Wines of the Year. It marks the beginning of what promises to be a compelling journey toward producing one of Barossa’s great Cabernets.
