This wine is made from the original Riesling vineyard on the Koerner Family property, planted in 1973. The vineyard is a unique four-hectare block running north to south over a hill, with 89 short rows oriented east to west. This layout helps protect the fruit from the intense Clare Valley sun and contributes to the wine’s balance and longevity.

The fruit for this wine comes from the southern slope of the vineyard, where a thin layer of clay loam overlays limestone. This section is particularly valued for its ability to express the mineral characters that define this Riesling style.

To build weight and texture, the wine is fermented and aged in 1000L ceramic amphora for approximately nine months and undergoes full malolactic fermentation. It is then racked to stainless steel, where it rests on fine lees for a further six months. The wine was bottled at the end of April 2025 without fining or filtration.

The Limestone Riesling was named No. 50 in the 2025 James Suckling Top 100 Australian Wines, scored 96 Points by Halliday Wine Companion (Katrina Butler) and also received 95 Points from James Suckling and 93 Points from The Winefront (Mike Bennie).
