Pinot Noir
Sidewood Estate Pinot Noir 2023
Hand-picked from low-yielding vines at the Mappinga Road and Charleston vineyards, the wine undergoes wild yeast fermentation using partial whole-bunch and whole-berry techniques. It is then matured in larger French oak barrels for up to ten months. The result is a complex aroma profile of strawberries and cream, complemented by hints of forest floor and bay leaf. The palate is seamless and elegant, showcasing red fruit with enticing gamey notes of wild mushroom. Ample yet delicate tannins are supported by generous length. This wine pairs outstandingly with duck or game dishes, accompanied by a side of wild mushrooms. It is drinking beautifully now but will continue to evolve with careful cellaring.
