The El Desperado Red Blend 2022 continues the legacy of innovation that began with its first vintage in 2011—a year notorious in Australian wine history as the "vintage from hell" due to the challenges of a wet summer. During that difficult season, The Pawn Wine Co. chose to forego its full range to create something entirely new. While El Desperado wasn’t planned before that fateful vintage, its bold and unique profile proves it was a decision worth making. 

Crafted from grapes grown at the Macclesfield vineyard, this medium-bodied blend combines the finest characteristics of four varieties to deliver a richly textured, flavor-packed wine. Sangiovese contributes cherry cola and raspberry notes with refined tannins, while Tempranillo adds a perfumed lift and a hint of spice. Shiraz enhances the blend with deep color, berry fruits, pepper, and velvety tannins, and Montepulciano brings striking color and a name that’s simply irresistible. Perfect for any food pairing or occasion, this wine is a celebration of resilience and creativity.
