Montepulciano was first planted at Coriole in 2001, and over two decades on, it has become a much-loved feature of the estate’s portfolio. The variety is prized for its rich intensity and the array of savoury characters that balance its dark cherry fruit. A late ripener, it is often the final variety harvested each vintage.

The 2024 Montepulciano draws fruit from both the Coriole and Willunga vineyards. At Coriole, the vines grow on classic terra rossa soils, contributing structure and definition to the wine. In contrast, the Willunga site provides fruit with richness and generosity, resulting in a wine that marries depth, savoury nuance, and plush fruit in equal measure.
