The Hey Diddle Montepulciano 2024 is a juicy and expressive Barossa Valley red, opening with aromas of cherry, black pepper and violets alongside subtle earthy notes. The palate is smooth and generous, with ripe plum fruit at its core and layers of sweet spice adding warmth and complexity.

Fine tannins and balanced natural acidity keep the wine fresh and lively, giving the fruit plenty of shape without weighing it down. The result is an approachable, moreish style with savoury depth, vibrant fruit and an easy, persistent finish.

Sourced from the Heidenrich vineyard in Dorrien, Barossa Valley, at around 280 metres elevation, the fruit is grown on sand over deep loam and harvested by hand. The wine is made with minimal intervention using wild open fermentation, gentle handling and basket pressing, with 50% left unoaked and 50% matured for six months in barrel before bottling without fining or filtration.
