This wine originates from the historic ‘95 Block’, planted in 1995 with Reynell selection Cabernet Sauvignon—cuttings originally from Bordeaux and preserved in Coonawarra after Phylloxera struck France. The team recognised the block’s exceptional quality a decade ago, inspiring the first Block 95, now a continuing expression enhanced in 2022 by a small co-fermented parcel of Petit Verdot.

Harvested in the cool of night, the fruit underwent a long, gentle fermentation and extended skin contact before spending sixteen months in 60% new Taransaud French oak. The blend (81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Petit Verdot) shows rich red and purple hues, lifted aromas of blue and red fruits, brambles, violets and cedar spice, and a dark, brooding palate with a plush mid-section and fine-grained tannins.
